In the year 2019, I took a leap of faith, leaving behind the familiarity of my advertising and events business. A burning passion had been simmering within me – to share India's breathtaking art forms and timeless stories with the world.
I embarked on an extraordinary journey, delving deep into the realm of mythology and tradition. Every intricate detail, every vibrant color, every whispered legend – I absorbed it all. Alongside my dedicated team, we strived for perfection, curating exquisite pieces that would make people travel to the heart of India.

And so, Kaunteya was born – a labor of love that would bridge the gap between ancient traditions and modern luxury.

Today, I beam with pride as Kaunteya's global presence spans the world, safely delivering pieces of India's soul to doorsteps everywhere. Our retail presence across India's cities is a testament to the power of passion and dedication.

Throughout this journey, innovation, quality, and the celebration of Indian heritage have been my guiding principles. I've been blessed to share this dream with an incredible team, and together, we've woven a tapestry of stories, art, and tradition.

What does ‘Kaunteya’ refers to ?

Kaunteya was born from a deep reverence for the Mahabharata, where the sons of Kunti are known as Kaunteya. The relevance of this name to the brand is that it is an homage to both my mothers, who bear the name "Kanta".

Is it 24k gold ? How do you ensure food safety ?

At Kaunteya, we prioritize maintaining relevance through uncompromising quality while staying true to Indian heritage. Our products adhere to stringent international food safety standards (California prop 65 approved).

It is crafted from the finest qualty china clay and adorned with silk screened designs. Each piece is meticulously hand-decorated and detailed with 24K gold, proudly embodying our ethos of being 'plated with India'.

How these wares are true to the modern asthetics ?

In our approach to design, we blend traditional Indian art with contemporary aesthetics. Instead of deep Indian colours, we opt for western pastel hues to give our wares a modern appeal without compromising its Indian essence.

We proactively launch new collections to meet evolving customer preferences. Embodying India's rich cultural tapestry, every creation resonates with our global audience. Bringing this essence of India to the world is not just our passion, but our driving force.

What has been your inspiration behind each collection?

The inspiration behind each Kaunteya collection is deeply rooted in India's rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions.

Our Pichwai collection draws from the intricate art form of Rajasthan, traditionally used for worshiping Lord Krishna. Jyamiti celebrates the symmetrical beauty found in Indian monuments, capturing their majestic allure. The 'Dasara' collection reflects the breathtaking intricacies of the Mysore palace walls, a testament to regal grandeur. 'Phad', from Bhilwara, inspires our Byah series, honouring the richness of Indian weddings.

Our Shakti collection is a tribute to Indian women portraying their strength, resilience, and achievements. Airavata pays homage to the Vahanas of Hindu gods, showcasing their divine significance and spiritual symbolism. The Kansa collection highlights the craftsmanship of tribal artisans, using an alloy that Ayurveda praises for its health benefits.

What fuels my passion is knowing we've satisfied customers who find meaning in our products. At Kaunteya, we believe our products are heirloom pieces that will resonate across generations.

Over the past 5 years, with gratitude, our brand has expanded globally, forged strong partnerships, like with the govt of qatar, many hotels and restaurants etc and cultivated a loyal customer base including some bollywood celebrities.
